Sunday, June 12, 2016 ~ Today we’re traveling to the Rocky Mountain National Park and spending the night in Colorado Springs.

Traveling through the Rocky Mountains, we arrived at the National Park late in the afternoon, just in time to see the elk’s evening feeding. There were so many of them and they were so close to the road. AJ really enjoyed taking pictures and kept wishing he would have the opportunity to hunt one of these giant beasts.

We continued to drive up the mountain until we were in the clouds, it was 47 degrees, and I had lost Google Maps. At that point, I decided to retreat back down the mountain. It was foggy and dark and we still had quite a way to drive.
